Pepe was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 1973.
He began acting at 12, coached by Azucena Mora, a well-known Ecuadorian actress.
At 13, he had his first encounter with the classical theater of the Golden Century of Spain and Britain, under guidance of renowned Spanish directors, participating in theatrical productions at the Ecuadorian-US Cultural Center and in TV Channel 10. One year later, he joined the body of Varvisa Productions.
Part of his theatrical training took place in New York, at The School of Film and Television. In Ecuador his teachers were George Coello (Ecuadorian), Alejandro Pinto (Chilean), Paco Varela (Peruvian), Carl West and Steven Ditmayer (Americans), among others.
He played "Romeo" in the staging of Romeo and Juliet, and "Calixto" in The Celestine, directed by famed Italian Director Marina Salvarezza and the Chilean Mirella Tironi.
The "Vicente Rocafuerte" medal for Artistic Merit, granted by Ecuador, is one of his achievements. Others include legislative recognition for his gifted career.
As TV host, he excelled conducting "Arcandina", an educational children's show, and "La Plena", a variety show.
He further took part in various soap operas and sitcoms. His performances have been outstanding in real-life dramatizations, such as Ecuavisa's "De la Vida Real", "Archivos del Destino" (TC Television), "Infieles Ecuador" (Sí TV), "Cuentos de la Noche" (Gamavisión), and "Historias Personales" and "Notas de Amor y Odio" (Teleamazonas).
Also memorable has been his cinematic performance in "Narcisa de Jesús" by Ecuadorian Director César Carmignani. Other films include "Fighter", "La Revolución de Alfaro", and "Cuentos sin Hadas", where he performed next to famous Venezuelan actresses Elluz Peraza and Chiquinquirá Delgado.
Presently, he hosts the show "Calle y Risas" presented by Canela TV.
